1950s Hand Painted Italian Compact

A compact made in Italy. The front lid is an enamel, hand painted scene with silver scalloped edges. The back lid is engraved in a geometric lattice pattern. The compact opens at a hinge with a twisting clasp. Inside, there are two pressed powders, two powder puffs and a mirror, the same size as the top lid following the scalloped contour of the compact.
